Lakme Absolute Precision Liquid Liner Review

Ello fraanz :D
I will be reviewing my first (and only) liquid liner pen. I hard a hard time choosing which liner to buy but since I trust Lakme I decided to give it a try.
Price: Rs.395

The pen is very travel friendly and is long and slim. It looks just like a marker. The nib is quite hard and may hurt eyelids if used with slight pressure. But it is safe for contact lens wearers. The box of this pen said it should be stored upside down so that it does not dry up. The black colour is pretty dark, but not jet black.

The pen can make quite thin lines and with amazing precision. I have lost touch with liquid eye liners and now put it terribly so this pen is a good way to start getting used to eyeliner application for beginners or for those who love winged eyeliners but never manage to get it right. But be careful not to press the nib too hard or the tip might bend. I was able to put an (almost) perfect winged eye with this.

Though the picture doesn't show how thin the lines can be drawn in reality, it is actually thin in application. If left open for a while, it starts drying up soon and lines look like in the picture above.

How it looks on my eyes :)

Pros:
- Creates the perfect shape with precision
- Easy to use
- Travel friendly

Cons:
- Dries up quickly

Yay or nay to recommend?
Yay for those who are beginners at liquid eyeliner application. I personally love this!

Mini haul!

Hello all!
This is a very tiny post but I just had to post it because it is my first (though mini) haul of the YEAR! I know, right? My shopping urges can actually be controlled :D. Thank you Boyfriend for making sure I didn't pick up my wallet every time I saw a sale or something I thought I wanted to buy <3 :D
But when I saw these rings in Ayesha, I just had to pick them up! I kept a budget and decided to go out shopping without exceeding the limit (I took just the right amount of cash so I can't buy more even if I wanted to.. Also, it helps rationally choose whether I wanted the product or not since there were other products on my list waiting to be bought :P).
And since I was spending cash, I decided to give Garnier's BB cream a try lol. Also, Landmark is having a sale going on so I bought two CDs.. yay! Didn't buy any books because I tend to finish books within 3 days and it's not worth buying that many books unless I really like it (and that's pretty rare btw). If you are like me and don't prefer buying those expensive books nor do you want to succumb to piracy and buy copies of those books by the road side, do check out Justbooks. It is a library with rental books and they even deliver the books and magazines to your doorstep! No, this is not a PR thing. I'm only promoting this because it might benefit others like me. They have branches all over India.
Ok now to pictures of my haul.

The rings from Ayesha :). The big ones cost Rs.120 each and the stackable one costs Rs.150.

A close up of the ring. They are stackable rings.. I fell in love with it when I saw it! They look much better in reality :)

A mix of dance hits of the year, a Sander Van Doorn CD and Garnier BB cream.

What have you hauled lately? :)
I'm trying really hard not to shop for a month again.. hope it works :D

My February Vellvette Box

Hello lovelies!
I know I haven't posted in a really long time.. I've been really busy with assignments and college trips. Finally got the time to take a deep breath and post :D
I received my Vellvette box yesterday afternoon. Even though I was in two minds about whether I should subscribe or not, I decided to give it a try again this month. For all those that do not know what a Vellvette box is, look at my post HERE. The box was dressed perfectly for Valentines Day :D

I got:
- Benefit Pore-fessional balm (3 packs)

- Purely Pro Cosmetics blush in Strawberry (full product!)
- Figs and Rouge Balm in Aloe Vera (full product!)

The coupons and introduction card. I even got a magnet but can't seem to find it anywhere now :(

Purely Pro blush in Strawberry.. very pretty shade!

Figs and Rouge Balm.. I LOVE this! :)

Benefit Porefessional

I'm actually a bit disappointed with this months box as I do not use blushes (but I don't mind it as I get to try new products and brands) and I do not have any pores (I entered my age as early twenties!). After looking at others' boxes, I feel everyone has got more or less the same products. The Pore-fessional was got by others in last month's box too. I think I will have to give it a few months break and then resubscribe again :(. But the Figs and Rouge Balm definitely needs some attention. I LOVE IT!! Have been using it from the time I got my box and it is great! Would not have thought of purchasing it if not for Vellvette! Also, there's been some mix up with my order and the delivery guy said I already paid for the box and it shows I renewed my 3 month subscription! I've written to them so hopefully things should get sorted out soon. All in all, I'm really happy I got not one, but TWO full size products and I'm happy to try both! :)

What did you get in this month's edition of Vellvette Box? :)
I'd love to know :)

Sesa Hair Protein Shampoo Review

Hey everyone! :)
I finishes with my Loreal Total Repair shampoo recently and decided to try another brand to see if I could find any better ones. Found this on the supermarket shelf and it looked pretty good so picked it up. Read on to know whether it lived to its claim.
Price: Rs.60 for 90 ml.

The tube packaging isn't particularly attractive but it looks nice. It is pretty small but very travel friendly.
It contains quite a few natural ingredients. The shampoo has a nice scent to it. It is not too strong and the smell does not last for too long. The shampoo has a somewhat thick consistency. I dilute it with water on my palms and then use it as it does not spread across my palms if I don't.

As mentioned earlier, the shampoo is in a tube form so once the shampoo comes out of the tube, it keeps flowing out unless it is tightly shut. Even then, once it is opened again the shampoo automatically flows out so it is advisable to keep the tube in horizontal position when not in use.

The shampoo does not lather much but it definitely cleans my hair well. My hair feels softer (but not as soft as when I use Total Repair 5). Rinsing off the shampoo is pretty easy too. It does not weigh my hair down but I did not see any change in my hair after using the shampoo. So I don't think the hair proteins have done anything to my hair.

Pros:
- Cleans hair effectively
- Smells good
- Does not weigh down hair

Cons:
- It is very thick
- Shampoo might overflow out of the tube
- Does not do anything great to my hair
 Yay or nay to recommend?
Well, it does clean hair well.. but then again, all shampoos are supposed to. I think skipping this would be fine as using this might not make much of a difference to your hair.

Biotique Hand Cream Review

Hey everyone!
Today I will be reviewing Biotique's Nyctanthes hand cream. I initially planned on buying L'Occitane's hand cream but I'd never tried this brand before so decided to give it a try. Here's how I liked it.
Price: Rs.180 for 50 gm.

The bottle is a long green one. Not at all attractive. Bleh! Nyctanthes is an anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, aphrodisiacal Indian tree with flowers that awaken body and senses.

There is no pump or anything which makes it pretty unhygienic. It's best to use a spoon or flat stick to take the cream out as you can take out just how much you need. The lid closes tight so it is travel friendly, even though the packaging is pretty big.
The cream is a light pink coloured one and is appealing to the eyes. The cream is pretty thick and takes some effort to scoop out the adequate quantity. The fragrance is a huge turn off for me. It smells very medicinal and it's pretty strong. Those with sensitive noses should definitely stay away from it!

Once the cream is applied, it takes about 5 minutes for the cream to completely absorb into the skin. Even after absorbed, it leaves a layer of cream on my hands and it feels really greasy and sticky! So I decided to use this as a night cream as it gets really hard to do anything with greasy sticky hands. Applying it at night is even worse as I do not even feel like rubbing my hands together or touching my phone as it leaves half the cream on my phone once I touch it! The cream does make my hands veryyyy slightly softer but nothing miraculous. I could achieve that softness with a regular moisturizer as well. It is not worth going through that much torture to soften my hands.

 Pros:
- Moisturizes

Cons:
- Makes my hands greasy and sticky
- Does not absorb quick enough
- The smell is a huge turn off

Yay or nay to recommend?
Nay nay nay. Does not work for me at all. 'Nuff said.

Colorbar I-glide Pencil Glowing Sapphire Review

Hey all!
Today I will be reviewing Colorbar's I-Glide Pencil in Glowing Sapphire. I simply love this colour! Read on for my take on the product.

Prics: Rs. 399

The shade is Glowing Sapphire, and I must say it it just like a glowing sapphire! I love the shade!

The pencil is a sharpenable one which leads to a lot of wastage. But personally I prefer these as they are longer lasting than the retractable ones.

It has the colour indicated on the bottom part of the pencil to show the shade when it is placed amongst several other pencils.

The colour is a beautiful sapphire with glitter and shine. Beware though, too much of it during the daytime could spoil the entire look. One swipe is not enough to bring out the beauty of this colour, hence building up its pigmentation is a good option. The pencil is super creamy and glides on my eyes like butter! I love how soft they are! The only disadvantage of these soft pencils are that they tend to need constant resharpening :(

The colour is smudge proof as well as water proof but since it contains a lot of glitter, when it comes in contact with the water the glitters tend to spread all over your eyes making it look a bit ugly. The colour lasts on my eyelids for about 6 hours without any hassle but then starts fading a bit and the glitter spreads with sweat and water :(

Pros:
- The colour is veryyy beautiful
- Lasts really long
-  Very creamy and soft

Cons:
- Glitter tends tp spread all over my face after a while
- Very expensive

Yay or nay to recommend:
I would definitely recommend this pencil! I love the colour and the glitter just adds to its beauty! It is totally worth the price and I wouldn't mind purchasing more colours from this range.

Faces Ultime Pro Nail Lacquer review

Hello everyone!
Today I will be reviewing Faces' nail enamel in Disco Lights. I happened to stumble upon it while looking to buy their eyepencils and fell in love with it!

Price: Rs.399
The nail lacquer contains tiny glitters of blue and purpley pink. I love the look! It truly does feel like disco lights, or something one would wear for a girls night out. The colour really stands out! The bottle is a short and stout transparent one. It is not too heavy, but I don't think carrying nailpolishes around is the best idea.

The nail lacquer's brush is not too thick nor too thin. It is just right for application. Even the length of the entire applicator is just fine. If you are putting it as a base coat, 3 coats are minimum to bring out the colour. If used as a top coat, 2 are enough. The only (and biggest) con of this colour is that it is a real pain to remove. I took nearly 30 minutes trying to remove this from my nails!! Finally found out that dipping cotton in nail polish remover and leaving it on your finger for a minute helps in removing the stubbon paint off your nails. But this takes foreverrr!

The colour lasts on nails for 3 days without chipping. But I highly recommend you put a transparent base coat over this once you're done applying it as the texture of this nail lacquer is rough, and hence more prone to chipping sooner. Also, it helps smoothen out the rough surface on your nails.

Sorry for my untidy nails.. will get them back to normal this weekend :D. I tried taking pictures in different lights to get the exact look but I couldn't do justice to it at all :(. The thumb and ring finger is with 2 coats while the rest are with 2.. put it that way so you know the difference it makes to the shine.

Without flash

Pros:
- Shiny and fun colour
- Easy to use

Cons:
- Expensive!
- Creates a rough surface without a transparent top coat
- A HUGE PAIN to remove.

Yay or nay to recommend?
I would recommend this nail lacquer for a party or fun occasion but definitely not something to wear every week. You do not want to suffer while removing  it all the time.

Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Totally Turquoise review

Hey peoples :D
I will be reviewing Revlon's Colorstay eyeliner in Totally Turquoise today. I love it!

Price : Rs.560 (I purchased it quite a while back when the prices weren't this steep)

The pencil is a non-retractable one and is travel friendly.

The pencil is very creamy and glides in my eyelids at ease. No tugging or pulling! The colour is a rich turquoise. There is no sparkle or glitter in it but the overall effect does not give a matte finish but a creamy glossy one. It can be worn during the day time as well.

Unlike most other pencils, this one does not have the colour indicated on the bottom. But the rest of the pencil is turquiose in colour so it is still not difficult in locating it. I love the packaging of the pencil, it has a very rich sophisticated look.

Left: 1 swipe, Right: 3 swipes

The colour can be built up with more swipes, as can be seen above. The colour is actually slightly darker than the picture. The company claims this is a waterproof pencil, but I did not find it fully waterproof. Or smudgeproof. The colour does not go easily with water but rubbing it hard in water makes the colour vanish. Make up remover is needed to remove this colour if more than 3 swipes were put. The pencil lasts easily for about 5 hours on my oily eyelids.

Pros:
- Colour is lovely
- Packaging is good
- Waterproof (to a certain extent)

Cons:
- Not smugdeproof
- Very expensive

Yay or nay to recommend?
The colour is gorgeous, but price really creates a hole in the pocket. I would recommend it if not for the heavy price tag. I'm sure the same colour could be found in other brands too for cheaper.

Faces eyepencil in Purple review

Hey everyone <3
Today I am going to review one of my most favorite eye pencils ever! It is actually the first eyepencil I've bought from Faces and I must say I'm a little sad about discovering its awesomeness now. I'm really late! But you know what they say, it's better late than never :D

Price: Rs.349

The pencil is a non-retractable one and has a normal eyepencil packaging. Nothing too great about it. The colour is a lovely purple.. I have never come across a purple pencil with this shade.. I love it!

The pencil has the shade marked on the bottom of the pencil to help locating it. It is veryyyy creamy! Super creamy, even! I've never used a pencil that's this creamy and soft! When I used it first, I applied a little bit of force while putting it on my eyelids and it broke.. That's how creamy it is! So obviously it is needless to say that this will require sharpening pretty often. But it is totally worth it so it's alright. So buttery, it glides on eyelids at ease!

Left: 1 swipe, Right: 3 swipes
The colour can be built up with more swipes, as can be seen in the picture above. It is not glittery but it does have a bit of shine to it when applied. But this can be worn during the daytime at ease. Coming to the mess-proof part. It is veryy smudgeproof and waterproof. When the SA swiped the pencil on my wrist before I bought it, she forgot to remove it and I forgot it was even there on my hands because of the excitement lol. And I couldn't get it off my wrists till night. Because it wouldn't come off. A make-up remover is definitely necessary to remove this! I ended up scratching it off because it was so stubborn!

How it looks on my eyes :)

Pros:
- Amazing colour!
- Veryyyyy creamy
-  Lasts long. Really long :D
- Waterproof and smudgeproof

Cons:
- Expensive

Yay or nay to recommend?
I definitely recommend this to everyone! Also, do check out their other shades.. They're all amazing! Going to pick up some more soon, it's totally worth the price :D

NYX eye/eyebrow pencil in Emerald City review

Hey everyone! Hope your day is going good today.. I've overeaten my lunch so I'm in a really sleepy mood now :D
Today I will be reviewing NYX's eye pencil in Emerald City. I got it in my Vellvette box and I'm really glad I did because I love it! I know I've been doing many eyeliner reviews off late but I'm currently obsessed with them so just end up buying a lot and they're all lovely colours that I just HAVE to review, so there you go! :)

Price: Rs.295

The colour of this pencil is a very pretty emerald colour. I personally love this shade, it highlights the eyes so prettily!

The pencil is a sharpenable and travel friendly one. It has the colour indicated on the bottom to help in locating it easier.

The pencil is creamy, but not as creamy as Faces' eyepencils. It might hurt your eyelid if sharpened too much. But sharpening isn't necessary too often with this one. But I still don't get why Emerald would be used as an eyebrow pencil.. ok maybe it's just me and I dont use it that way.

The pencil lasts with water to a certain extent but is not totally waterproof. But mind you, this pencil is not for those that keep rubbing or touching their eyes. Everytime I touch my eyes, a bit of this colour comes on my fingers! It is not at all smudgeproof. But if it is not touched it lasts without fading for about 5 hours, which is a pretty good staying time.

Left:1 swipe, Right: 3 swipes
As you can see, the colour can be built up with more swipes. Also, the more swipes you put, the longer it lasts on your eyelids even with water.

How it looks on my eyes :)

Pros:
- Beautiful colour
- Creamy texture
- Long lasting

Cons:
- Not waterproof
- Not smudgeproof

Yay or nay to recommend?
I personally love this colour so if you're fine with it not being mess-proof, I definitely recommend it!
